UK Financial Investments Ltd (now known as UKGI) is a government company who’s sole shareholder is HM Treasury. After the 2007 financial crash UKFI was the vehicle the Government used to rescue the country’s major banking institutions such as Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland by purchasing large volumes of their shares. A decade later Brightside Print and Design were tasked to design and print their reports and accounts over the course of several years.
This was a project of serious financial market implications, investment decisions by companies were made upon the information within. The Annual Reports even had to be presented to Parliament. The tightest of deadlines therefore had to be adhered to with no room for movement whatsoever. We were to produce the reports over a very short period of time from receipt of text and data overseeing all typesetting and graphic design and to see the project through to the delivered finished print product. All the while obeying and adhering to the many confidentiality instructions.
A project of such importance was of course handled by one of very experience Account professionals, who planned the scheduled the timeline to the minutest detail. Liaising between both our graphic design team and the client a series of deadlines by which to send design drafts by were drawn up and the project commenced. The professional presentation of the reports was essential and the documents had to look and feel worthy of such an important Government body. Recycled paper was chosen to meet their environmental standards and PUR (polyurethane reactive) perfect binding was opted for as not only does it provide and clean cut finish, but the extra strength the PUR adds opposed to hot melt glue goes that one step further for a document of this stature. Prior to any printing and publishing of the reports they had to proofread as the slightest numerical error could have serious consequences.
We’re pleased to confirm that the Reports and Accounts were printed and delivered to Parliament on time and a navigable PDFs of them were also provided. The entirety of this project is something whole company played a part in, and can be proud of. From those in our graphic design studio and the print specialists working the machines through to those involved in the account handling while not forgetting those in our logistics team.
